Fruit-full schools
7/7/2010
Tyfu Orchards is an exciting, new pilot programme from Learning through Landscapes Cymru (LTLC) that will support 8 Welsh primary and secondary schools to take positive action towards the creation of a sustainable future...where the distinctiveness of our local cultures and traditions are enjoyed and valued and the fruit we eat comes from just round the corner instead of from the other side of the world! We’ll be doing our bit to increase biodiversity by planting trees and attracting wildlife, so not only will our schools become more productive, they will become more beautiful and inspiring places to learn and grow.
Along the way, we want to encourage as many other Welsh schools as possible to follow our lead and get fruity with us. As our projects progress, we’ll be sharing our experiences and resources through the Welsh pages of our new UK-wide fruit-full schools website - http://www.fruitfullschools.org
We are looking for 8 enthusiastic Welsh schools from either Cardiff, Newport, Caerphilly, Bridgend, Monmouthshire and Rhondda Cynon Taff to take part in our two-year programme, starting in Sept 2010.
